How to Win at Roulette Guaranteed

The best roulette strategy beginns with Learning the Roulette Rules

A lot of people talk about Roulette strategies and Roulette systems. But from a statistical point of view they don’t really make any sense. Keep this in mind when evaluating any system you come across; it doesn’t matter if the number 13 hasn’t come up in the last 6 thousand spins, the odds of 22 coming up on the next spin are the same as all the rest of the numbers. That is a statistical fact, and must never be forgotten.

Consequently, the best Roulette strategy is based on simple mathematics. Never play the American version if you can help it. American wheels have the extra double zero. All this does is double the house odds in their favour. So, whenever given the option, play the European wheels only.

Martingale – the oldest and the most popular Roulette System

The basic strategy of the Martingale is when you lose a 50/50 bet, you double your bet on the next spin. That way, if you win, you cover your last round’s loss and also gain your initial bet’s amount.
The Martingale betting system increases your chances of winning in the short term.

The Martingale is one of the oldest betting systems around.
Here’s how it works:

  • You make your bet, say $5, on an even-money bet, for example on red in online roulette.
  • Every time you win you make the same bet for the next hand. But if you lose, you double your bet for the next hand.
  • When you eventually have a winning hand after a series of losing hands, your net win will be $5. In fact, every time you win a bet, you’ll be up another $5, regardless of past losses.

Here’s an example: You bet $5, you win, so you bet $5 again. Then you lose, so you bet $10. You lose again, so you bet $20. You lose again, so you bet $40. You lose again, so you bet $80. Then you win. Your net win on that series was $5, and since you won $5 before your losing streak, you’re ahead a total of $10.

If you could always double your bet when you lose you’d be guaranteed to always come out ahead.
But in real life you can’t always double your bet. First of all, you’ll run out of money at some point and be unable to double your bet. If you start with $5 and lose thirteen bets in a row (it happens), you’ll have to cough up $40,960 for your next bet. Ouch.

Bet even if you had that much money, you couldn’t bet it anyway, since most casinos limit maximum bets to $500-1000 on a $5 table. And usually, the higher the maximum on a table, the higher the minimum, too.

So that’s the risk of the Martingale.

To make it clear how system works:

Roulette System - martingale
So while the Martingale can work in the short term, but the longer you play, the more likely that you will get long losing streak during which you couldn’t double your bets high enough.
So, you deside, to bet or not to bet.

Labouchere System – lower Risk Roulette System

The Labouchere strategy is similar to many roulette strategies because it does rely on progressive betting logic. This system was made famous by Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, as his character used it in numerous casinos stretching form Monaco and Macau to Las Vegas.
Check out how the strategy works:

- You begin with a sequence of numbers. It doesn’t matter what. Set a line of progressive numbers, such as 1, 2, 3, 4
- Add the first and last numbers in the line (this is your first wager)
- Bet on even money (such as black or red, even or uneven) with the sum calculated
- After winning wagers, cross-off the first and last numbers and repeat for the next wager
- After losing spins, add on the sum lost to the line and repeat for the next roulette bet

Below you can see a couple of example Labouchere roulette chains, starting with a basic low risk strategy, and progressing to a larger potentially more risky cycle……

123 Labouchere chain

Wager 1 = 1+3 = 4 (win = chain of 2, lose = chain of 1, 2, 3, 4)
Winning bet 2 = 2 credits
Losing bet 2 = 1+4 = 5 credits

12345 Labouchere chain

Wager 1 = 1+5 = 6 (win = chain of 2, 3, 4, lose = chain of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Winning bet 2 = 2+4 = 6 credits
Losing bet 2 = 1+6 = 7 credits

D’Alembert Roulette System – a pyramid system

The D’Alembert system, also called montant et demontant (upwards and downwards), is often called a pyramid system.
It is based on a mathematical equilibrium theory devised by a French mathematician of the same name. Like the Martingale, this system is mainly applied to the even-money outside bets, and is favored by players who want to keep the amount of their bets and losses to a minimum.
The betting progression is very simple:
After each loss, one unit is added to the next bet, and after each win, one unit is deducted from the next bet. Starting with an initial bet of, say, 10 units, a loss would raise the next bet to 11 units. If this is followed by a win, the next bet would be 10 units. Another win would lower the next bet to 9 units.

Result (you win)-$1-$2+$3-$2+$3+$2-$1+$2-$1+$2+$1
Accumulated result (profit)-$1-$3+$0-$2+$1+$3+$2+$4+$3+$5+$6

The Idea of d’Alembert system is the same as for Martingale. There is still the possibility to reach the table limit if you have a long sequence of losses or a period of time where black occurs more often than red.

1st and 3rd column Roulette win strategy

How this Roulette Strategy Works:

  • One bet of 2 pieces on the 1st column and one bet of 2 pieces on the 3rd column covers most of the red numbers on the table.
  • One bet of 2 pieces on the black will provide insurance for occurrence of black.
  • This betting system covers nearly all numbers except for the 4 red numbers in the middle column and the zero (and double zero in American Roulette).
  • If the result is a red number in either the 1st or 3rd column, the player only breaks even. If the result is red in the middle column the player loses 6 pieces.
  • If the result is black and in the middle column, the player loses 2 pieces.
  • If the result is a black in the 1st or 3rd column, the player only wins 4 pieces.

You could also use the game of the 2/3 that will give the player a maximum of 66.6% chance of win. This “strategy” breaks even in the long run, of course, for the simple reason that any linear combination of zero-expectation bets is itself zero-expectation. In this case, the notion that the black bet provides “insurance” against failure of the red bets overlooks the uneven amounts bet on red versus black and the relative probabilities of success of the various bets, singly or in combinations of two or three wager-components.

System of game in roulette “Aleksambert”

The roulette researcher Karl Alexander delivered an interesting improvement of the d`Alembert progression decades ago. He named his version of the d`Alembert: “Alexembert”.

The original d`Alembert progression follows an arithmetic row:
1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – etc.
It always starts with a base bet of 1 unit. After a loss the bet size in the next stage is raised 1 unit and after a win the bet size for the next stage is reduced by 1 unit.

Example 1:

roulette win Strategy

The “Alexembert” uses the same principle, but with varying arithmetic rows like for example:
·  1 – 3 – 5 – 7 – 9 – 11 – 13 – etc.
or
·  1 – 4 – 7 – 10 – 13 – 16 – 19 – etc.
or
·  1 – 5 – 9 -13 – 17 – 21 – etc.

You can see that the increments between the single stages of this progression are higher than in the original d`Alembert.
Now the trick here is that the number of bets in each stage is equal to the difference between the stages with the intention to place lower bets during losing streaks and higher bets during winning streaks.

If the difference is 2, as in the first row, we bet each stage up to 2 losses or 2 wins ( – / + cancel each other ).

Although the result in the second example is only +1 compared to +2 in the first example, we need only 17 units instead of 20 units in the first example.

Example 2:

Combine the “ALEXEMBERT” with a betting strategy of your choice and play a for free casino money.
Maybe you can add some stop limits or fictive betting after a couple of losses and do some calculations concerning the bankroll needed for your adaptation of the “ALEXEMBERT”.
